Corporate & Community Information
FitBorders has been established to make physical activity, exercise and holistic alternative therapies more accessible and affordable to local communities especially those who may have experienced barriers to participation including but not limited to those with a disability, those who have weight issues, those in care homes and those on low wages.
FitBorders is a socially responsible company which runs both commercially viable and subsidised classes and services within the communities of the Scottish Borders. Its strap line “It’s all about you!” is at the heart of its ethos – to ensure services meet the needs of the individuals within the communities – not the other way around.
FitBorders will seek to benchmark and measure the level of activity and health and well-being of participants, thereby being in a position to offer services that meet needs and to address any gaps in provision around accessibility, availability and affordability.
FitBorders is seeking service level agreements with partners across statutory, private and third sector organisations thereby offering a “one stop shop” delivery mechanism to enable harmonisation and accountability.
FitBorders is committed to providing an excellent professional service and all instructors and practitioners are fully trained in their specialities. This is supported by First Aid certification, Public Liability insurance, music licenses and Disclosures. FitBorders consultants have delivered services for NHS Borders, BSLT/LIVE, MS Borders, Eildon Enterprise, Healthy Living Network, The Ability Centre in addition to commercial classes.
We currently run Gentle Exercise, Zumba™, ZumbaKids, Pilates and Circuits classes in the community.
FitBorders currently has two consultants who have experience in design, delivery and reporting on community audits, surveys and questionnaires.
